Il Frataio Antica Friggitoria has been located since 1920 in the center of Livorno in the area of the historic Mercato delle Vettovaglie in the heart of piazza Cavallotti (formerly piazza delle erbe). Since its first opening, frati (donuts) and stuffed cannoli have been produced (replaced at the end of the 70s by bomboloni) strictly fried and hot. Over the years, the line has been expanded with the production of scagliozzi (fried polenta *), chips, cenci (or chat during the carnival period), frittelle di riso (during the fathers day), fratini and bomboline (only to order for birthdays and parties) and frozen refectory (to fry at home). The business has been mainly managed by the Esposito-Rainone family which, today (third generation), is maintaining the qualitative process handed down over the years. Its name is dedicated to all the people who have made it possible to pass these typical products down to the present day
