About
Terrazza Mascagni is a historic waterfront promenade in Livorno, Italy, named after composer Pietro Mascagni. Built on the former site of a 17th‑century fort, the terrace offers sweeping views of the Ligurian Sea, the Tuscan Archipelago, and the port of Livorno. Its 8,700 square metres of paved surface, checkerboard tiles and 4,100 balusters create an inviting public space that once served as a heliotherapy centre and a venue for music performances. Today, the terrace remains a beloved gathering place for locals and tourists alike, especially during sunset hours when the sea glows.
