About

The Torre dell'Orologio is a striking 15th‑century Renaissance tower perched on Piazza delle Erbe in Mantua, Italy. Constructed between 1472 and 1473 by architect Luca Fancelli, the tower houses an astronomical clock originally built by mathematician Bartolomeo Manfredi in 1473. The clock’s intricate dial, complete with zodiac signs and a moon sphere, was restored in 1989 by Alberto Gorla and remains a popular attraction. Inside, the Museum of Time displays the clock’s mechanism and related artifacts, while the tower’s belvedere offers sweeping views of the city and its surrounding lakes.
