The restaurant is located in the town of Cisternino, in a structure dating back @tothe early 1700's which was once the site for the noble art of bread making. The round room,also know as the privèe, used to be one of the first wooden ovens where the local population would bring their bread to bake. From the roots of this tradition Mezzofanti's restaurant springs with an essential cuisine but colored with brillant flavours, honoring the products of our land and endorsing the food miles (Km 0) ones. Mezzofanti's poetry is the poetry of the South, In homage to this exceptional individual, the restaurant has been named after Cardinal Mezzofanti, and the culinary selection of our menu inspired by the cardinal's personality and charisma.
