Shadowed by forests and bushes, by secular olive trees, the hills on which the settlement of Ascoli aroused, opened the storybook of the ancient Daunian civilization, witnessed the famous battle of BC 279 between the Roman army and Pyrrhus, saw the Romans in their marking of this territory by cultural transforming it, which then was left to other future civilizations, Byzantine, Saracen and Anjou to play their part in the history scene. All is meant to introduce the visitors even for an instant, in the remote atmosphere of old times, conceived in the form of a living fairytale of this blessed land.
