About

The Civic Aquarium of Milan, opened in 1906 as part of the Milan International, is one of the oldest aquariums in Europe and the only remaining building from the 1906 exhibition. Nestled on the eastern edge of Parco Sempione, it occupies a historic pavilion that blends Art Nouveau design with a modern, visitor‑friendly layout. The aquarium is home to more than 100 species of fish and aquatic plants drawn from Italy’s lakes, rivers and sea, displayed in a series of large, naturalistic tanks. In addition to the living exhibits, visitors can explore curated photographic galleries and occasional temporary exhibitions that highlight marine biology and conservation.
