Parco Della Preistoria
About
Parco della Preistoria is a sprawling naturalistic park located just outside Rivolta d’Adda, about 20 kilometers east of Milan. Covering more than 100 hectares of woodland, the park offers visitors a unique journey through deep time, featuring over 30 large-scale reconstructions of prehistoric animals—including dinosaurs, pterosaurs, marine reptiles, and early humans—built with scientific accuracy and artistic finesse. As guests wander along the shaded path, they encounter the park’s botanical trail, where native trees, shrubs, and aquatic plants showcase Italy’s natural heritage, along with a swamp and a small lake that provide tranquil spots for relaxation and observation. Inside the grounds sits a dedicated paleontological museum, inaugurated in 2009, that displays fossils, minerals, and interactive exhibits that deepen the educational experience. Picnic areas, a café, a labyrinth, and playgrounds make the park an ideal destination for families and school groups, while the variety of activities—from wildlife spotting to guided tours—cater to nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and children alike. Open year‑round, the park is accessible by foot, bicycle, or on a leash‑friendly dog, offering a peaceful escape into the past while enjoying the natural beauty of the Adda River valley. Whether you’re an avid dinosaur fan or simply looking for a scenic spot to unwind with loved ones, Parco della Preistoria invites visitors to step into a living museum of Earth’s ancient history.
