Pinacoteca di Brera
About
Pinacoteca di Brera, located in the historic Palazzo Brera in central Milan, is Italy’s first public art museum, opened in 1809. The museum showcases masterpieces from the 13th to the early 20th century, including works by Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, and many others. Beyond its impressive collection, the museum offers guided tours, interactive audio‑guides, and tactile projects, making art accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities. The newly opened Palazzo Citterio wing, “Grande Brera,” features contemporary art, events, and an urban garden. Visitors can reserve tickets and guided tours through the official portal brerabooking.org. On the first Sunday of each month, the museum offers free admission, though booking is still required.
