The B&B Neapolis Bellini is situated in the central and well-known Piazza Bellini, the hangout of Neapolitan intellectuals and nightlife lovers. It is close to many University sites, the School of Fine Arts (Accademia delle Belle Arti) and the Academy of Music San Pietro a Majella, where many popular Italian composers studied like Vincenzo Bellini, whose statue stands in the middle of the square. Piazza Bellini is surrounded by historical buildings of the XVI century, which are wonderful examples of Baroque and Renaissance style. On the southern side of the square stands the complex of Sant'Antonio delle Monache a Port'Alba, which today houses the library of Letters and Philosophy Faculty, while on the northern side stands Palazzo De Rossi di Castelpretoso, also known as Palazzo Mastellone, where our B&B is located. Along this side of the square, the ruins of the ancient walls of the Greek Neapolis are still to be seen. These historical findings came to light in 1954 and were officially shown to the world in 1984. Finally, on the western side of the square, there is an historical building known in the past as Palazzo dei Principi di Conca, which was built in the late XV century and still presents elements of the original façade. Three very important and crowded roads of the city merge into Piazza Bellini: Via Port'Alba, which develops on the rear side of the ancient namesake city gate, Via San Sebastiano, also known as 'the musician road' due to the presence of numerous workshops, where handcrafted instruments are produced, and Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, which leads to the National Archeological Museum of Neaples. How to reach us: - If you come by car, take the Napoli Zona Portuale motorway exit, continue for about 1.5 km on Via Nuova Marina and then turn right on Via Duomo. When you arrive to Piazza Nicola Amore, take the third exit and keep on going for about 500 m on Corso Umberto. Turn right again when you get to the university building on the corner of Via Mezzocannone. This road is accessible only for residents, so don't hesitate to contact us before your arrival and we will be pleased to provide you with a permit. Keep on going for about 200 m and then turn left on Via De Marinis. When you get to Largo Banchi Nuovi, take Via Santa Chiara and go straight forward on Via San Sebastiano until you reach Piazza Bellini. - If you get to Neaples by train, take the underground walkway in Napoli Centrale station that leads to the tube (Metro 1) and catch the train headed to Piscinola. Get off at Dante and walk along Via Port'Alba until you get to Piazza Bellini. - If you get to Neaples by plane, you can take the ALIBUS outside the airport arrivals and go to Piazza Garibaldi (central train station). The buses to the city centre leave approximately every 20 minutes. The ticket costs €3 and you can buy it from the SunStore that you find inside the airport. When you get to Piazza Garibaldi, go to the tube station (Metro 1) and catch the train headed to Piscinola. Get off at Dante and walk along Via Port'Alba until you get to Piazza Bellini.
