Bar del Porto

About

The history of Bar del Porto begins in the 1950s in a room created from a cave where fishermen stowed their nets. A few years later, a woman named Lora Sabatini began to offer welcome and refreshment to men who returned from long days at sea. Thus becomes the "Bar Miramare", better known as "Bar di Lora". Between the end of the 70s and the early 80s, the ownership of the bar changed and the "Bar di Lora" was acquired by Roberto Properzio, a Milanese man from the sea, who at the end of a long sail with his sailboat, tired and tried, he arrives in Porto Ercole. In love with this corner of paradise, he decides to change his life, dedicating himself to the "Bar Miramare" which will be called the "Bar del Porto" from that moment on. This elegant venue soon became the symbol of the golden years of Porto Ercole and its promenade, the destination of the international jet set. A period also testified by the splendid images of the great American photographer Slim Aarons.
