Valle Tamantina holiday farmhouse is located in the green heart of Umbria, 6 Km from Bevagna medieval town, not far from Assisi, Spello, Montefalco, Spoleto and Todi.The peace and quiet of the place, along with the warm welcome, turn the holiday into a unique occasion for enjoying the re-discovering of the rural world and its authenticity, with surprising and everchanging colors and fragrances in every season.Olive trees, with their silvery foliage, are the protagonists of our farm and they are surrounded by pine-trees, oak-trees and fields.Valle Tamantina is the domain for those willing to meditate and rest, lulled by the sounds and scents of nature, plunged in a peaceful environment.The two stone houses are restorations of old farm-houses; traditional local material has been used in order to preserve the equilibrium with the landscape.The apartments are independent and comfortable; they consist of a double-room, bathroom including a bath-tub or a shower, living-room with a double-bed and a cooking corner (inside a wardrobe).Two apartments on the ground floor have a fireplace.Valle Tamantina holiday farmhouse is located 350 mt. Above sea level in a 10 hectare farm property that is biologically cultivated; main production is Extra-Virgin OLIVE-OIL (Olives are picked manually and cold pressed), but also WINE, SPELT, CHICK-PEAS and LENTILS are produced.In this unspoilt corner you can listen to the sound of Nature, go around hiking or by mountain bike along the paths of the pine-wood, sighting the animals living in the undergrowth such as hares, pheasants, squirrels, porcupines and badgers, and searching for seasonal treasures such as mushrooms, asparagus and blackberries.In the surroundings you can reach and visit the beautiful towns on top of the hills, with their medieval castles and town walls.Guests have the use of: swimming pool (for adults and children), solarium with sun-beds, mountain-bikes, a large garden with a children's playground, a barbecue and out-door facilities.In the soft hilly scenery of our holiday farmhouse you can re-discover the atmosphere of the old rural world, enjoying the picking of fresh fruit from the trees and, in summer, picking ingredients for tasty dishes from the kitchen-garden.Guests can live in the open air, looking at -and participating in- our work in the fields, in activities such as picking of the olives and of the kitchen-garden products, breeding of the animals (we breed sheep and farmyard animals) and grape harvest.Vineyards, olive-groves, castles and medieval towns picture the surroundings, in the landscape of soft hills.Not far away you can reach the main history and art places of the region; along the via Flaminia consular road, Bevagna, known for its "Mercato delle Gaite" medieval recalling at the end of June; Deruta and its artistic potteries; Spello, on the slopes of Mount Subasio, adorned with flowers for the Corpus Domini festification; Assisi and all the celebrations related to its patron Saint Francis; Montefalco, Umbria's "parapet"; Spoleto and its "Festival dei Due Mondi"; Perugia and its International "Umbria Jazz" musical event in July and "Eurochocolate" in October; Foligno and its "Giostra della Quintana" fair, Gubbio and its "la festa dei ceri" candle ceremony in May; Trevi and its "Palio dei terzieri" racing silk, Todi, Corciano and many others.The holiday farmhouse is the ideal place for spending a peaceful holiday and also an excellent starting point for some excursions to the towns of Umbria to discover the treasures of art, culture and food and wine.Umbria region is very interesting both for its wonderful landscapes and for the many local feasts, folkloristic and cultural events taking place during all summer in the many towns of its territory.
