Caterba is a "house complex" placed in the middle of a Medieval village, built around the 1200s, called Monte del Lago on Trasimeno lake. The outside walls are all original and the inside architectural structures have been restored.The village, a time called Fontegianus, for a spring dedicated by the Romans to the divinity Giano, is connected with the Trasimeno lake through an ancient stairway from which it is possible to enjoy splendid sunsets and a magnificent view as far as the Polvese island. In the course of the restoration a very ancient cistern was found and recovered, which can be visited.The surrounding protecting walls and the 13th century tower are perfectly preserved. You will encounter the tower at the entrance and it will welcome you with its magic character. All the flats have ceilings with exposed wooden beams, fire-place, architraves of windows and tipical old doors. They have hot water, heating and AC and kitchen with complete appliances.
