About
The Walls of Lucca, known locally as Le Mura di Lucca, form a 4‑kilometre long Renaissance fortification that now serves as a green urban park around the historic city centre. Constructed between 1504 and 1648, the stone, brick and earthwork walls enclose the historic centre and offer visitors a leisurely promenade lined with mature trees, providing sweeping views of Lucca’s towers and monuments. The walls are freely accessible on foot or by bicycle, and host cultural events, markets, and the annual Murabilia horticultural fair. The site attracts history lovers, families and nature enthusiasts alike. Contact for visitor information: Tele: +3905834422; Email: turismo@comune.lucca.it.
