Museo Leonardiano di Vinci
About
The Museo Leonardiano di Vinci is a museum dedicated to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, located in his birthplace of Vinci in the Tuscan province of Florence. Housed in the historic Castello dei Conti Guidi and the Palazzina Uzielli, the museum showcases one of the world’s most extensive collections of models reconstructed from Leonardo’s original drawings. Visitors can explore more than 60 meticulously crafted machines that span Leonardo’s work in engineering, mechanics, and the sciences. The galleries are arranged by thematic sections such as Construction Machinery, Textile Manufacturing, Mechanical Clocks, War Machines, Bridges, and the Flight Studies, each accompanied by explanatory panels, digital animations, and interactive displays. The journey culminates at Leonardo’s birthplace, where a life‑size hologram brings the master’s childhood to life, and a co‑located Villa del Ferrale presents a separate exhibit of the artist’s paintings and drawings. The museum’s layout, spread across the two historic sites, offers a comprehensive view of Leonardo’s multidisciplinary genius.
