At the top of the Clock Tower Steps (Salita dell'Orologio) in Ragusa Ibla, a new hotel has just opened its doors: "L'Hotel Diffuso dell'Orologio." The first of its kind in Ragusa-a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hotel offers ideal lodging for lovers of baroque architecture, history, traditions, nature, food and wine, and cultural tours. L'Hotel Diffuso dell'Orologio marries the exuberance of 17th-century Baroque architecture with the sober elegance of 19th-century Sicilian furnishings. Look out any window and you'll have stunning views over tile roofs and verdant valleys while inside you can enjoy introspective paintings and photos by well-known local artists. The Orologio consists of rooms and apartments set in different buildings. They all come with air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV and private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Apartments also feature a balcony and kitchen.
