About

The Faro di Portofino is a striking 12‑metre‑high white lighthouse perched on the western tip of Portofino’s peninsula, a proud landmark of the Gulf of Tigullio. Opened in 1917, the fully automated beacon sits atop a low tower and a two‑storey keeper’s house, and proudly flashes a single white light every five seconds from a focal height of 40 metres (≈130 ft), visible up to 30 km. Powered by solar energy and operated by the Italian Navy, the lighthouse offers visitors a unique glimpse into maritime history and the stunning Ligurian coastline.
