Ospedale delle Tartarughe
About
The Ospedale delle Tartarughe, part of Fondazione Cetacea, is a marine turtle rehabilitation centre located in Riccione, Italy. It serves as the leading hub in Emilia‑Romagna for rescuing, treating, and releasing sea turtles back into the Adriatic Sea. Visitors can experience the centre through guided tours that showcase the rehabilitation process, the Ca’tta delle Tartarughe—a controlled marine “nursery” for turtles recovering from neurological or motor complications—and the final release zone. In summer the centre welcomes guests from Monday to Sunday, while in winter visits are scheduled from Monday to Friday. This site appeals to families, students, nature lovers, educators, volunteers, and marine‑conservation enthusiasts who want to see first‑hand how rescued turtles are cared for and resettled into their natural habitat.
