Al Trenino Accomodation
About
Al Trenino accomodation is located on the highest hill of Rome, the Esquilino hill, which also gives its name to the district. It is located inside a historic building, built around the mid-1800s, in conjunction with the project of the then Central Station, finished building in 1863, now no longer visible because it was demolished replaced by today's Termini Station. We are in via Giovanni GIolitti, which at the time of construction was called via Principe di Piemonte. Via Giolitti is a street that fully represents the evolution architecture of the city of Rome, our position, exactly halfway to the street, allows us looking out the window of our room, to see on the left the "new", with the Termini Station inaugurated in 1950 and instead looking to the right, the "old", with the Temple of Minerva Medica (Roman, beginning of the 4th century) and Porta Maggiore, one of the gates of the Aurelian Walls (52 AD).
