About

The Antiquarium of Lucrezia Romana was born in 2015 with the aim of telling the history of the south-e-astern territory of Rome, impacted by a recent land development. The excavations carried out in the di-stricts of Appio-Tuscolano, Osteria del Curato, Tor Vergata, Quadraro, Torre Spaccata, Romanina, Morena, Cinecittà and Anagnina have proved the steady occupancy of this area since the most recent phase of the Neolithic period (5000- 3000 BC). The rich collection includes pottery, statues, terracottas, everyday objects, jewels, coins, inscriptions, which come mainly from archaic settlements, necropolis and luxu-rious Roman villas. The exhibition gives visitors insight into the customs and lives of the various cultures documented in the area during the Prehistory and the Middle Ages, revealing the watershed moments in the transformation of the ancient landscape.
