Canale di Tenno is a well‑preserved medieval village perched at 428 m above sea level on the Trentino side of Lake Garda. Its narrow cobbled lanes, stone houses and the two main streets that meet at a small square provide an authentic snapshot of 13th‑century life. Since the Second World War the village has attracted artists, most notably the Turin painter Giacomo Vittone, whose Casa degli Artisti (Artists' House) hosts exhibitions and gatherings of creative minds from across Europe. Each August, the village hosts Rustico Medioevo, a festival that immerses visitors in 12th‑century village life with food, music and traditional crafts. Visitors can stroll through the historic lanes, enjoy panoramic views of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains, and explore the artistic heritage inside the Casa degli Artisti.
