The Ducal Palace of Montagnola is a truly fascinating and full of history. Around the early 1400's the Duke of Acquaviva, Andrea Matteo II, he decided to build himself a residence in the locality of the Hillock country. Because of its location not far from the coast, but in the dense vegetation, would have been perfect in the period of hunting to accommodate, in addition to the following, its many distinguished guests. After more than two centuries, exactly in 1695, the Palazzo Caracciolo is donated by the Duchess Francesca, wife of the Duke of Acquaviva (for the sake of her dowry, as the Palma) to the Friars Minor of Campli. For more than a century, the palace is transformed into a convent next to which was built the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. ---------- Camillo Montori ---------- wine producer among the most popular of Abruzzo, has chosen to make Montagnola home of the flagship of its many activities. The palace has therefore become the representative office of its Wine House, becoming a prestigious Relais and charming for different occasions. The Palace offers its spaces and its preciousness in happy moments and special meetings. Many tools of the time furnish the entire building. An attentive and careful restoration that has retained the most original warmth. ---------------------------------------------- On the first floor is the restaurant, where the cuisine is interesting interpretations of the great culinary tradition of the region through the tried and tested the ability of a given family team: Lorenzo, Adriana, and Julien Ferretti. Their hands are happy, that mix tradition and innovation with safety, taste of home and ideal combinations, with surprising results. Particular care in the presentation of the dishes served with courtesy and professionalism by the Staff of room led by Claudio Marchetti. Ideal pairings with the wines of the winery Montori, as well as labels of prestigious national.The place is really lovely and can accommodate up to 300 people. ---------------------------------------- Few, but immaculate rooms (six), full of atmosphere and furnished with period pieces, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the countryside. The bathrooms are nicely taken care of, have a shower and hot tub. Other local attract the visitor's attention, as the cellar with old tanks for wine making, the room of the old mill and the rich set of objects of civilization. It will form as a historical museum in memory of the past.
