The Wine Hotel San Carlo - Relais & Spa comes from a long-cherished dream: we wanted to make the original soul of the building live again. Its origin dates back to 1843, when it was used as a postal station and inn. After 50 years the sixth generation of Redaelli’s family has renovated the ancient building into a charming hotel. Our Wine Hotel is wonderfully located in Chiuro, birthplace of the local Nebbiolo grape wine, well represented in the cellar of our renowned restaurant. The french word relais means shift, relay, changeover, and here it keeps on referring to refresh themself, take a break , but it is enriched with a hint of exclusivity. The ancient post station has been transformed into a hotel with 12 rooms where you can relax while sipping a glass of wine or chilling at our exclusive Spa, including Finnish sauna, steam Bath, Evian Shower and rooftop terrace with scenic pool.
