Lago di Piediluco
About
Lago di Piediluco is a picturesque lake straddling the border between the Province of Terni in Umbria and the Province of Rieti in Lazio, Italy. Surrounded by verdant hills and set at an elevation of 375 m, the lake covers an area of 1.58 km² and reaches a maximum depth of 19.5 m. Its calm, spring‑time waters and mild winds make it an ideal venue for rowing, hosting national, European, and international competitions at the Italian National Rowing Center. Historically the lake evolved from the larger Roman “Lacus Velinus,” with engineering projects in the 1920s shaping the current water system. Visitors can stroll around the shoreline, admire the nearby Labro castle in the background, and explore the surrounding natural landscapes that offer a peaceful retreat from the bustling city life.
