Fondazione Accorsi - Ometto - Museo di Arti Decorative
About
The Accorsi–Ometto Museum, founded in 1956, is Italy’s first decorative arts museum and a cultural landmark in Turin. Housed in a late‑17th‑century Baroque palace on Via Po 55, the museum boasts 27 beautifully curated rooms that recreate a refined 18th‑century home. Visitors can wander through galleries of Baccarat crystal, silverware, and Meissen porcelain, and then step into the exquisite rooms of the private collection, including the celebrated Piffetti secrétaire‑cabinet made of rare wood, ivory and tortoiseshell in 1738. The museum’s collections largely span the 18th and 19th centuries, showcasing the elegance and craftsmanship that once adorned Turin’s aristocratic residences. Its location, surrounded by historic streets and close to Piazza Vittorio Veneto, offers a fascinating glimpse into the city’s artistic heritage.
