Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile
About
The Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile, located at Corso Unità d’Italia 40 in Turin, is one of Italy’s most celebrated automotive museums. Opened on 3 November 1960, the museum’s original building has been expanded and renovated in 2011 to cover 19 000 sq m (200 000 sq ft) of exhibition space spread over three floors. Visitors can explore nearly 200 cars from eight countries, ranging from early pioneers such as an 1896 Bernardi and a 1899 Fiat, to iconic models such as the 1914 Rolls‑Royce Silver Ghost, a 1929 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A, and racing legends from Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. In addition to the rolling‑stock gallery, the museum houses a substantial Documentation Centre with photographs, technical drawings, and archival materials, as well as a library of some 7 000 rare texts and a theatre for exhibitions and events. The museum’s commitment to preserving automotive heritage, combined with its interactive displays and richly curated collections, makes it a must‑visit destination for car lovers, families and history enthusiasts alike.
