Lido di Orri
About
The Lido di Orrì beach, stretching along the panoramic Highway 125 in central‑eastern Sardinia, is one of the island’s most celebrated and longest stretches of sand. With an expanse of roughly nine kilometres of fine white and golden beach, narrow coves framed by granite cliffs, and crystal‑clear waters that gently slope down to a shallow depth of about 300 metres, it is a prime spot for swimming, sun‑bathing, and water activities. The beach is famous for its eco‑environmental quality, having earned multiple ‘Blue Flag’ awards from Legambiente. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of services, including a large parking area suitable for cars and campers, snack bars, and rental kiosks for beach equipment. The surroundings feature charming natural highlights such as the Cala Ginepro cove—named after a nearby juniper grove—and the smaller Cea cove, both offering picturesque settings for a relaxed stroll. The area is popular among families, surfers, fishermen, and lovers of marine life, who appreciate the shallow waters and the vibrant, ever‑shifting hues of the sea. Even in the quieter early-spring months, the beach’s golden sands and pines provide a serene backdrop for a leisurely day out.
