Funierice - Erice Cableway
About
The Funivia di Erice is a classic cable car system that connects the coastal town of Trapani to the medieval hilltop village of Erice. Spanning a 3,099‑meter route, the line reaches 703 metres above sea level in just ten minutes, providing visitors with sweeping views of Trapani, the Egadi Islands and the surrounding countryside. The cableway consists of two stations: the lower station at Trapani (about 40 m above sea level) and the upper station in Erice. Each cabin seats eight passengers and is equipped with night‑time illumination, a specialized cabin for bicycles and for passengers with reduced mobility. The service operates daily, with operating hours that vary by season and local holidays, and offers a range of ticket options including single journeys, round‑trips, multi‑day passes, and special discounted fares for residents, children, and groups.
