About
Giardini del Balio are a 19th‑century public garden perched on the hilltop of Erice, Sicily, surrounding the iconic Balio Towers and the neo‑Gothic Pepoli Turret. Developed by Count Agostino Sieri Pepoli, the gardens combine Mediterranean plantings, elegant fountains, and sweeping panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the historic town. After a meticulous restoration completed in 2024, visitors can stroll through terraces, admire the “Venus and the Bee” fountain, and enjoy quiet moments overlooking the Norman Castle of Venus. The gardens are a popular afternoon escape for families, history lovers, and nature enthusiasts alike.
