Parco Faunistico La Torbiera
About
Parco Faunistico La Torbiera is a unique wildlife sanctuary situated in the picturesque border area between the Po Valley and the Prealps in Piedmont, Italy. Established in 1977, the park combines an open visitor area with a protected wildlife zone covering about 40 hectares, offering visitors a chance to observe a variety of endangered species in a natural setting. The park’s mission is not only to showcase these animals but also to raise awareness and support conservation projects that benefit local biodiversity. Visitors wander through a 2‑kilometre walking trail that runs through mixed forest, wetlands and meadows where foxes, hares, marmots, and several bird and reptile species thrive. In addition to free wildlife observation, the park offers guided tours, including a special evening tour with expert guides that explores nocturnal animal behaviour. For photography enthusiasts, the park hosts a dedicated workshop that helps participants capture wildlife in its natural habitat. The workshop includes practical sessions on composition, lighting and storytelling, and culminates in exclusive access to protected areas not normally available during normal hours. The park’s educational programs are designed for children and schools, making it an ideal destination for families who wish to combine learning with outdoor adventure.
