Artworks on Literatu str
About
The Literatu Street Art Project transforms the historic Vilnius street into a vibrant open‑air museum of over a hundred plaques, sculptures and installations honoring Lithuanian and international writers. Artists have turned walls into monuments of poetry, painting miniature portraits, embedding clay, metal and ceramics into the city’s fabric. Visitors walk along Literatu g. and discover literary history in a playful, almost interactive way—from the grand monument dedicated to Vytauto Šerio to a subtle sculpture by Justina Pakalnytė that turns a familiar literary line into a bronze relief. The site is a living tribute that has already hosted more than twenty artists since its launch in 2018. Its free, public‑space nature invites anyone, from casual stroller to dedicated bibliophile, to explore a new form of street‑art that blurs the line between literature and visual culture.
