Mullerthal Trail
About
The Mullerthal Trail is a world‑famed network of 112 km of scenic hiking routes through Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland, offering a unique blend of dramatic rock formations, lush forests and charming historic villages. Each of the three main routes (Route 1, 2 and 3) caters to different tastes and levels of fitness: Route 1 meanders through the picturesque town of Echternach and its cathedral, Route 2 takes hikers into the heart of the region’s spectacular rock outcrops, and Route 3 blends sweeping valleys with romantic castles. Five ExtraTours provide additional shorter, themed walks. Well‑signposted paths bearing the “M” red and orange logo guide visitors safely, while a network of parking lots, hiking information centres and optional luggage transport services (Move We Carry) makes the trail accessible for solo travellers, couples, families and history enthusiasts alike. Visitors should plan for an average walk of 3 hours, enjoy the peak seasonal scenery in spring or autumn, and be prepared for occasional mud after rain. The trail is recognised with the "Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe" label, guaranteeing quality and safety throughout the experience.
