About

Over 300 years ago, 'il-Mitħna tal-Għaqba,' a windmill perched on Naxxar hill, was constructed. Left abandoned until just three years ago, a substantial €1.5 million investment was made to restore the Naxxar windmill to its former splendor. This name is derived from its location atop Naxxar hill. Erected in 1710 by the foundation of Grandmaster Perellos, the windmill is made of limestone and spans two stories. It boasts several distinctive features, including a top-mounted mechanism responsible for milling grains.
