Tal‑Massar Winery is a family‑owned boutique cellar nestled in the historic village of Għarb, Gozo. Tracing its heritage back to 1934, the Hili family produces a modest 20,000 bottles each year, drawing on local varieties such as Girgentina, Vermentino, Nero d’Avola, Syrah and Merlot. Visitors are invited to taste three of the estate’s finest wines in a private estate setting, accompanied by a cheese and charcuterie board, Maltese bread, traditional galletti biscuits, local olive oil and sun‑dried tomato paste. The tasting, priced at €45 per person, lasts roughly two hours and takes place on the estate’s terrace. Guests under 17 enter free of charge, though only adults are served alcohol. The winery accepts online reservations, though spontaneous visits are also welcome – we simply recommend booking early to secure a table.
