Open Doors stands up for persecuted Christians around the world and brings Bibles and other Christian books to countries where this is prohibited. The foundation now has a visitor center, which tells the story of many persecuted Christians. Because, according to Open Doors, everyone in the Netherlands should know that Christians in their own country are persecuted and imprisoned for their faith. The visitor center includes a prison, where you can sit in to experience something of what is done to these Christians. The cell contains belongings of a Pakistani prisoner: Tahir Iqbal. Tahir, paralyzed from the waist down, spent a year and a half in prison before disappearing without a trace. Open Doors assumes he was killed in prison.
