Shelter Jordan - Amsterdam Hostel
About
Please note: Shelter Jordan is currently temporarily closed for renovations. When it reopens, it will continue to offer its warm, welcoming atmosphere and great value in the heart of Amsterdam, close to Anne Frank House, Dam Square, the Royal Palace, and the Museum District. The hostel’s compact 100‑bed complex encourages a friendly, community‑friendly vibe – there’s a courtyard garden to relax in, a café that serves homemade dinners each evening, and free Wi‑Fi, lockers, maps, sheets, and showers. Guests can enjoy a variety of dorm rooms, private rooms, and shared bathrooms, and the 24‑hour reception provides tourist information and discounts on canal cruises, bike hire and museums. The hostel is known for its Christian volunteer staff and “no‑curfew, no‑drugs, no‑alcohol” policy, ensuring a clean and friendly environment. Though it is currently closed, Shelter Jordan has been a favourite since 1971, with many guests returning year after year. Visitors can expect a colourful, budget‑friendly experience that captures real Amsterdam life once the hostel reopens.
