Welcome to the seafood Restaurant De Meerplaats. The restaurant is located right on the lively fishing port of IJmuiden and has been around since 1970. The current owner William Brands sways the scepter since 1993. In mid-April 2018, the restaurant underwent a total metamorphosis. The fish we serve comes fresh from fishmonger Dutch-Seafoods from IJmuiden every day, directly from the auction. The dishes of De Meerplaats can best be enjoyed while enjoying a good glass of wine. For that reason you are offered the choice from a very extensive wine list. Our wine list has been compiled in collaboration with our renowned house supplier, winetrader Fred van der Wal. Families or large groups are no problem, but also an intimate dinner for two is possible. We do have an English menu so tourists can easily order the most delicious meals prepared by our chef Fred Nieswaag. There is free parking in front of the door.
