About
Museum Willet‑Holthuysen is a stunning 17th‑century canal‑house on Amsterdam’s Herengracht, now part of the Amsterdam Museum network. Originally the home of mayor Jacob Hop, the building was restored in 1739 and was later donated by Louisa Holthuysen in 1895. Inside visitors stroll through three authentic period floors, admiring Dutch artworks such as Jacob de Wit’s decorative pieces and the extensive collection of Abraham Willet. The house also features a tranquil French‑style garden (grachtentuin) and offers a free multilingual audio tour. Group tours can be booked online or by email for €76.30 (incl. tax).
