Nationaal Reddingmuseum Dorus Rijkers
About
The Nationaal Reddingmuseum Dorus Rijkers tells the story of the Dutch rescue system, from the beginning till now. Wild seas, stranded boats and lifeboats turning out. Experience the Dutch rescue services like never before. Be part of a real rescue mission with the spectacular virtual reality experience, defy wind force 10 in the wind tunnel, and send out your own Morse code. The museum has been voted Kidsproof for years. Models, instruments and authentic black-and-white movies also appeal to the adult visitors. The museum tells the story of lifeboatmen, rescue missions, lifeboats, the Rescue Company, ship communications, and navigation. In the museum harbour you will find the impressive and still-active fleet. Daily boat tours through the beautiful inner harbour of Den Helder are available from April until the end of October. We would love to see you at the museum soon!
