About
Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery, located just west of Arnhem in the village of Oosterbeek, is a solemn tribute to the Commonwealth soldiers who fell during the 1944 Market Garden campaign. Spread across a tranquil, landscaped site, the cemetery holds 1,684 graves, including an additional 79 Polish soldiers, and a church‑style memorial stone of mourners. Designed by P.D. Hepworth, its orderly rows of headstones and a central memorial stone honor the sacrifices made during the landing on the Rhine. The site is open to the public year‑round and free to visit, with wheelchair access available via the main entrance and a contact number for further inquiries.
