In the center of The Hague these artists introduce you to another way of seeing, so that you can imagine the world differently. At the same time, they embrace and celebrate the complexity of life with an open attitude. A lot of the artists that exhibit at 1646 show their work in The Hague or even The Netherlands for the very first time. At 1646, artists get the trust, means and space to experiment and make new work. That way, 1646 introduces extraordinary art to the Dutch audience before it’s on view in big museums all around the world.
