Booij Kaasmakers
About
The cheese farm of the family Booij is a family owned business for over 300 years as far as we know, there are no records of older times. The farm is located near the windmills of Kinderdijk (9 km) and in between the even older windmills of Streefkerk. Marijke Booij is now running the farm together with her mother Betsy and a team of passionate cheesmongers. We like to share are passion for our artisan cheese making and show you a piece of our real Dutch culture. We make classical farmhouse Gouda from raw cow’s milk, but also Gouda from goats milk and surprising flavours like truffels or Szechuan pepper. We offer different possibilities to visit our farm. Think of a tour through the cheese making facilities with a tasting, or a workshop actual cheese making. We also serve home made meals in our tasting room for groups! If there is little time, in our farmshop you can always try and buy a piece of handmade Gouda. And see through the window in the shop how the cheese is made.
