Heimat takes dining back to its origins. We serve refined and innovative flavours, inspired by nature and its ever-changing wealth of produce. Taste the seasonal harvest, from the garden to your table. The name of our restaurant, Heimat, refers to the emotional connection people have with the places where they've put down roots. We bring these meaningful connections to life in the flavours coming from our kitchen. Heimat combines high quality ingredients with the smallest possible carbon footprint to create pure, soulful dishes Our head chef Niels van Zijl is ambitious and creative, just like his 'heimat' Utrecht. Before starting Heimat, Niels was head chef of restaurant DeZusters in Maarssen. Niels previously worked as a chef at several internationally renowned restaurants, such as De Librije*** in Zwolle (NL) and Kadeau** in Copenhagen (DK).
