Gol Stave Church can be found on Storeøyne. The outdoor area is open all year round. The church is normally open from June 15th to September 30th. The church is a original replica of the original stave church from the 12th century (which today stands at the Norwegian Folk Museum on Bygdøy). The church was completed and consecrated in 1994. The copying work amounts to about 10 man-years. The church was built by local craftsmen, and most of the timber was sourced from the valley.
