About
Trastad Samlinger is a museum and Outsider Art Gallery. The museum shows conditions for people with intellectual disabilities after the Second World War in the authentic surroundings of the old central institution at Trastad Farm. During the institution period there was made 26 000 items of art by those living here. Today we have an Outsider Art Gallery displaying selected pieces from our collection as well as national and international works. We research the history of the former institution, work towards a national center for Outsider Art, develope programs for educational purposes and co-operate with several museums to highlight Outsider Art.
