About

Welcome to Linderud! Linderud Manor is an old estate on the site of an historical farm dating back to the Middle Ages. It has for generations belonged to the Mathiesen family, and included at its height hundreds of thousands of acres of forest, multiple sawmills, and some 350 farmsteads. The Manor House, originally built as a summer residence by Erich Mogenssøn in 1713, features a mixture of Baroque and Empire styles. In 1812 Haagen Mathiesen renovated the building for year-round residency. The Manor House houses a collection of fine art and antique furniture, and is open to the public throughout large portions of the year. Linderud Manor also features one of Norway’s best-preserved historical gardens - with winding pathways, perennials, orchards, ponds, arched hazel, and linden promenades. Guided tours on Sundays during summer, concerts and other events throughout the year. Pre-booked tours for groups from April - October.
