Vigeland Park
About
Vigeland Park, located in Oslo’s Frogner district, is the world’s largest sculpture park created entirely by a single artist, Gustav Vigeland. Spanning roughly three hectares of lush green lawns, winding pathways and meticulously landscaped gardens, the park showcases more than 200 bronze, granite and wrought‑iron sculptures that portray human life in all its stages and emotions. Visitors can wander at their leisure, yet popular highlights such as the Bridge with its famed Angry Boy, the towering Monolith, the elegant Fountain, and the Wheel of Life offer defined points of focus. The adjacent Vigeland Museum houses the artist’s former studio and a permanent exhibition of his artworks, providing a deeper appreciation of the sculptor’s technique and vision. With free access to the park itself and a range of ticket options for the museum, visitors of all ages can experience this celebration of art, nature and human story in a serene, city‑side setting.
