About

Kurasfossen 1 power station near Glamos was built in 1896 to provide electricity to the copper mines – the Storwartz, King’s mine and Muggruva. When the Roros Copperworks had to restructure its debts in 1936, it was taken over by the Roros electricity works. The first facility in Norway to provide high voltage power to end-users, the museum now houses old turbines, magnetising dynamos, marble control panels and other antique electrical equipment.
