About

In the innermost part of the Alstahaugvagen bay lies Belsvag farm. The oldest farm building dates back to the 17th century. Mathias Bonsak Krogh, appointed bishop of Northern Norway in 1804 and parish priest for Alstahaug in 1805, bought the farm in 1812, making it the first established bishop's residence in Northern Norway. The current owners offer accomodation in the main building, the traditional house set asaide for the farmer's parents upon retirement, a converted sheep shed and in cabins on the property. in 2006, the owner was awarded the Alstahaug Municipality culture award for his work on the farm. location: FV17, Approx. 29 km south of Sandnessjoen.
