Henjatunet Eggjarden

About

Henjum is a cluster hamlet, with history back to the viking area. Tha hamlet is surrounded by grave mounds on a platou 100 meters above the sea. Today the hamlet consists of six farms. Henjatunet Eggjagarden offers dinner in a farm restaurant, and guided tours around the farm and cluster hamlet. Both need to be booked in advanced. We welcome large and small groups for guided tours. During the tour, you will see an example of one of the few cluster hamlet in Western Norway that still has active farming. We can show how a traditional Vestlands farm with sheep and fruit, both modern forms of farming and how farming has been in the recent past up to the present day. During the tour, we visit the burial mounds directly above the yard where we tell a little about the history of the farms in the yard. We end the tour by serving tastings of home-baked lefse and apple cider or apple juice.
