Bakernes Paradis (Bakers’ Paradise) is beautifully situated in a small cove in Lauvvik at the mouth of the Lysefjord. The summer café offers refreshments, coffee, homemade cakes, local food products, and bread from GamlaVaerket bakery. In addition, the country store in Reisehuset sells a selection of fine handicrafts. Bakernes Paradis was originally a farm consisting of main house and barn. The main house dates from the 1800s the family that lived here emigrated to America in 1909. In 1920 the bakers took over, adding Reisehuset and Litlahuset to the complex. Today, the idyllic old trading post and inn is owned by Kronengruppen. The venue is ideal for small and large events, private or corporate, by appointment. A restored pier accommodates large as well as small boats.
